This class is a junior/senior elective, and it is designed primarily to introduce students to classic and contemporary novels by world-renowned authors. Students analyze the style each author used in writing his/her novel by giving special attention to characterization, plot, point of view, them, image, symbol, tone, atmosphere, setting, allegory, satire, and title. Students read four novels, complete two formal essays, take unit tests, and complete creative projects.
